Emiliano Rosas
I’ve called West Sacramento my home for my entire life. Growing up in Broderick and Bryte, I have a deep understanding of how important safe neighborhoods and a strong community are for future generations.
Raised by a single mother, who worked tirelessly to provide me with opportunities, I benefited from being raised by a tight-knit community that looked after me and guided me on the path of achievement and service to our community.
I’ve dedicated my career to those in need and strengthening our city so families can thrive. I currently work in community engagement for a non-profit organization that empowers our youth to become future leaders.
Additionally, I serve on the West Sacramento Parks, Recreation, and Intergenerational Services Commission, where I have worked collaboratively to help modernize Bryte Park and Alyce Norman Playfields–facilities that were vital to my own childhood. Public safety and reducing recidivism has never been more important in West Sacramento. My service as a Commissioner on the Yolo County Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Commission allowed me to focus on juvenile justice issues–keeping our young people out of trouble and creating pathways for success.
West Sacramento, like so many cities, has been struggling with an epidemic of homelessness. In recent years, by volunteering with local organizations that work directly with our unhoused community, I gained great insight into the problems and the types of solutions that can be effective.
This year will be the first time that our neighborhoods will have the opportunity to choose their own representation on the West Sacramento City Council.
I am running for City Council to strengthen our neighborhoods along with all of West Sacramento so that our families can flourish in the place that we call home.
